Our Playgroup Policies

Welcome to Sensory Sprouts Playgroup! To ensure a safe, nurturing, and fun environment for all children and families, we ask all members and visitors to review and follow our core policies.

 

📋 Registration & Attendance

• Ages: Our playgroup is open to children aged 0 to 5 years.

• Supervision: Children must be supervised by a parent, guardian, or designated caregiver at all times. We are not a drop-off service.

• Sign-In: Please sign in upon arrival and sign out when leaving for safety and fire regulations.

🍎 Health & Illness Policy

To keep our environment healthy, please keep your child home if they show any of the following symptoms:

• A fever within the last 24 hours

• Vomiting or diarrhea within the last 48 hours

• Unexplained rashes or contagious skin conditions

• Heavy, discolored nasal discharge or a persistent cough

If a child becomes unwell during a session, the caregiver will be asked to take them home.

🛡️ Safety & Well-being

• Behavior: We encourage sharing, kindness, and gentle play. Aggressive behavior, bullying, or rough play will be addressed immediately with the caregiver.

• Clothing: Please dress your child in comfortable, play-ready clothes that can get messy. Bare feet is welcome, be cautious of water being present in each session, the caregiver needs to be aware of potentially slippery surfaces/floor.

• Incidents: All accidents or injuries must be reported immediately to a playgroup coordinator so they can be logged in our accident book.

🍪 Food & Allergies

• Nut-Free Zone: We are a strictly nut-free playgroup to protect children with severe allergies. All preparation is done in a space where nuts are sealed & stored away from preparation area.

• Snacks: If you bring snacks, please consume them in the designated seating area.

 

📸 Photography & Privacy

• Personal Photos: You are welcome to take photos of your own child only.

• Group Photos: Please do not post photos on social media that feature other children's faces without explicit permission from their parents.

• Playgroup Photos: We will always ask for your written consent before using any images of your child for our website or promotional materials.

 

💰 Fees & Cancellations

• Session Fees: Fees are due prior to the start of each term or upon arrival for drop-in sessions.

• Refunds: We are unable to offer refunds for missed sessions due to personal illness or holidays. If the playgroup cancels a session, a credit or refund will be issued. If contacted 24 hours before the session we will be able to honour the missed session with booking you in for one future session (outside of any special occasion sessions; eg. Easter, Halloween, Christmas.
